Altona Life Saving Club (ALSC) actively encourages new members to join our organisation.

Whilst the core function of a life saving club is to train and educate qualified volunteer life savers to provide patrols at Altona Beach across the warmer months of the year, ALSC members benefit from a broad range of activities for members of all ages and abilities.

Our aim is to provide our members with a fun, safe and inclusive environment which is a focal point within the local community.  ALSC during the course of each season runs/participates in a broad range of activities including:

  • Beach patrols (subject to certain training requirements)

  • Skills training activities including first aid and CPR (see awards training for more info)

  • Boot camp training sessions

  • Swimming training sessions

  • Nippers junior life saving program (U6-U13)

  • Youth involvement program (U14-18)

  • State junior & senior life saving carnivals (various locations around Victoria)

  • Training camps

  • Family days, fundraising events and other social occasions

In addition to this, ALSC members are able to make use of the club facilities during regular patrol hours (see patrol page for more information on dates and times), including:

  • Clubrooms / Kitchen / Toilets / Change rooms

  • Paddle boards

  • Skis

  • Weight training equipment

Age, competency or supervision requirements may apply.

The annual membership fees paid by our members go towards the operating expenses of the club including the maintenance and purchase of equipment and facilities in accordance with the standards and expectations set by Life Saving Victoria (LSV), our governing body.

We welcome you to apply for membership today and get involved in the life-saving movement!

We are aware this will be a season like no other we have experienced as a club, and to reflect this, we are offering a generous reduction in membership fees, for the 2020/21 season only, for all returning members

As a not for profit organisation our club relies on fees to keep running, however, we are mindful of the significant financial impact this year may have had on our members and we want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to stay involved. This year a simplified fee structure will apply to both new and renewing members.

** Bearing in mind, club activities will likely operate with restricted attendee numbers, we ask all returning members to renew their membership as soon as possible to enable us to plan sessions based on accurate numbers.
