ABOUT US
Altona Life Saving Club (ALSC) is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to providing vital aquatic safety, emergency response, and community-focused initiatives along the Altona coastline in Victoria, Australia. As both a charity and an emergency service entity, ALSC plays a dual role in promoting water safety education and delivering life-saving services, including patrolling beaches, performing rescues, and providing first aid.
ALSC is committed to fostering community wellbeing, engaging locals of all ages in surf lifesaving activities, skills training, and fitness programs. Through various outreach initiatives, the club builds water safety awareness, especially among youth, helping prevent drowning incidents and ensuring a safer beach environment.
As an emergency services provider, ALSC operates in partnership with Life Saving Victoria and other emergency response agencies. The club’s trained members respond to critical incidents along the coast, ensuring swift assistance in emergencies. This capability, supported by rigorous training in rescue techniques and lifesaving protocols, ensures ALSC is well-prepared to handle a variety of coastal emergencies, providing a crucial safety net for the community.
Funding for ALSC is often raised through grants, community donations, and fundraising events, which support the club's lifesaving equipment, training programs, and community engagement activities.
