About the event

Our Nippers have been invited to join the Williamstown Nippers for their Emergency Services Day next weekend, Sunday 25 January from 9am to 10.30am.

As this is during the school holidays and on the Australia Day long weekend, it is an optional Nippers session.

Please RSVP for each nipper attending, so we know numbers per age group

We have confirmed Age Managers for each age group who will sign Nippers in & out and guide the group from station to station. We will ask a few parents to don a high vis and help move the group around.

This is usually a great day for the kids with ambulance, fire engine, police car, SES van, lifesaving jet skis; and possibly also the Westpac helicopter and the water police boat.

While all the emergency services are booked, there is the chance that some may not turn or turn up late or need to leave early due to the nature of their service. We appreciate you all being adaptable and flexible

The day takes a lot of organising by the Williamstown team and we are incredibly grateful for the invitation to join them.

There will be a lot of Nippers. Williamstown has double the number of Nippers. I suggest arriving early to park and allow time to find your way to the age group flag.

It is also a different beach that you and your child may be unfamiliar with. Keep an eye on your child. If they are being affected by the noise and crowds, you are welcome to take them aside to get some space and fresh air. Please let your Age Manager know if you do – we maintain the practice of counting heads in and out.

8.30am - Nippers arrive and go to Age Group flags

8.45am – Nippers sign in with their Altona Age Manager

9.00am - Program starts

10.30am - Program ends

-> See attached for the program and rotations.

U10 and older come prepared to go into the water as they will have the chance to swim or paddle a board out to the Water Police boat

BBQ usually on, run by the Silver Salties. Sausages only for $3. No vegetarian or halal options

Please let you Nippers know that they are representing the Altona Life Saving club. We are super proud of how they will line up behind the flag in a line, sign in & out and listen to their Age Manager.

Any questions, please email me on bignipper@altonalsc.com.au

See you at the beach.
